Former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie deleted the post questioning the ICC on ejecting Bangladesh from the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Jason Gillespie: The Decision

Gillespie was seemingly unhappy with ICC’s decision to replace the Asian team with Scotland after they refused to travel to India to play their group stage matches of the multination tournament, citing security concerns.

Jason Gillespie: The Post

Gillespie on Sunday posted on X, questioning the rationale behind ICC’s decision as he felt that arrangements were made when BCCI put forward a similar demand of not travelling to India during the Champions Trophy last year, when they played all their matches in Dubai with teams travelling to the UAE in order to play against the former winners.

When a certain X handle questioned his action, the former World Cup winner replied, “Because I got abused for asking a simple question that’s why.”

Jason Gillespie: The Verdict

Cricket’s governing body on Wednwsday while announcing the decision to replace Bangladesh from the tournament said “The ICC Board noted that it was not feasible to make changes so close to the tournament and that altering the schedule under the circumstances, in the absence of any credible security threat, could set a precedent that would jeopardise the sanctity of future ICC events and undermine its neutrality as a global governing body.”
