Srikkanth: Former Selector’s No Nonsense Take on Boycott RowImage Credit: X

Former BCCI selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth has had enough of Pakistan’s antics when it comes to threatening the ICC of boycotting the match against India scheduled to be played on February 15.

Srikkanth: The View

The 1983 World Cup winner was in no mood to mince his words while having his say on the boycott issue. Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel that if Pakistan does play the match against India, it won’t make much of a difference.

In the words of Srikkanth, “Empty vessels make more noise. Pakistan are scared. Now, in the U19 World Cup also they lost. So they are thinking of giving a walkover. Whether they play or not, the game is anyway a walkover for India. It does not matter if they come or not. In the Asia Cup, they played all the games against India.”

Srikkanth: The Schedule

Pakistan are placed in Group A alongside arch rivals India, Netherlands and the United States of America the team which defeated the 2009 T20 World Cup winners in the last edition of the multination tournament held in USA and West Indies and will kick off their campaign against Netherlands who have the reputation of causing a few upsets in ICC tournaments be it the fifty over World Cup or the T20 World Cup.

Srikkanth: The Form

If we talk about the form of the Men in Green in the T20I format of the game in the recent past, they have accumulated decent perfoermances including a 3-0 series win against Australia just before heading to Sri Lanka, where the Salman Ali Agha-led side will play all its matches.
